There were games played with stone on the game board in Egypt and Ur, but the first games that we could call draughts were born in 2000-1500 BC when it was thought that stones could go down in Africa. In this twelve-stone game, the pawn who reached the last square was given the right to go back and forth in every direction. The stone that fell on the cast of the Egyptian pharaohs had less strength today, only one square could advance in any direction. It was endorsed in the form of a “short draughts” as if it had a British palace, and there was no obligation to take a stone. This game was called “Morris.” The Greeks were playing a game called “five lines” in 500 BC. The name of this game in Rome is “12 pawns” du. The first actor we know of is Publius Musius Scaewola who lived in 2yy. It is said that he plays by tie his eyes. In France and Spain affected by Rome, the name of the game was changed to “game of pawns” in the 6th century. Morris te was played in these countries at the same time. The game, called “AlQuerqu”, was played in the Araplard, a game of pawns from the Romans, and the stone that fell down was given unrestricted freedom of movement. In the 8th century, the invasion of Spain by the Arabs adopted this faster and more enjoyable game of draughts in Europe.

Between 1000 and 1500, the draughts game was very popular in France, French players started to play on the 14th century chess board and gave the name “jue de dames” which means “play of the trenches”. The British selected the name “draughts” which means “Draughts’s board game.” Another change made by the French in the 15th century probably changed the character of the draughts game and the “compulsory pawning” rule was introduced.
